1. Data controller

The data controller for NearFor.me users is EBIZZERS LTD, Suite 205, Balfour House, 741 High Road, London N12 0BP (United Kingdom), Registration Number: 10187232. For any privacy request please write exclusively to info@nearfor.me. No other privacy contact of the controller is active.

2. Scope and applicable law

This notice applies to every NearFor.me market and language (Italy, United Kingdom, Spain, Venezuela) and complies with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), the UK GDPR, the ePrivacy Directive 2002/58/EC as implemented locally, and applicable local laws. It is a single text valid in all countries: the rights described belong to every data subject regardless of browsing market.

3. Personal data we process

We process only the data the platform needs, following data minimisation: browsing data (IP address in technical form, security logs, pages visited); account data (name, email, protected credentials, role) only if you register; data you choose to give us (enquiries to businesses, listing claims, applications, messages to the controller); preferences saved on your device (saved places, recently viewed listings, theme previews); visit measurement data, only with statistics consent: random identifiers in Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity cookies, pages viewed, clicks, device and browser type, approximate country; Clarity also records how the page is used (movements, clicks, scrolling); precise location only with consent through the “Near me” feature; payment data handled only by Stripe at checkout, without the controller storing card numbers.

4. Purposes and legal bases

• Providing the service and security (showing businesses, search, abuse prevention): pre-contractual measures and the controller’s legitimate interest.
• Accounts, subscriptions and support: performance of the contract, and consent for optional communications.
• Browsing preferences (saved places, theme): consent collected through the cookie banner.
• Listing figures for business owners: anonymous counts of views and of clicks on a listing’s contact buttons, collected by our server without cookies and without identifiers of the person: the controller’s legitimate interest in showing owners how their listing performs.
• Usage statistics with Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity (visits, conversions, feature use, anonymous session recording): only with statistics consent.
• Campaign measurement and maps (Google conversion linking, OpenStreetMap tiles, geolocation): only with marketing consent.
• Legal obligations (invoicing, security, requests from authorities): legal obligation.

Providing the data needed for the basic service is optional, but without it some features cannot work. Consent for the optional categories can be withdrawn at any time without affecting basic browsing.

5. Processing methods and security

Processing uses electronic means with appropriate technical and organisational measures: encrypted connections, role-based access control, log minimisation, backups and protection against unauthorised access. Internal access is limited to authorised EBIZZERS LTD staff and appointed processors.

6. Retention

• Technical and security logs: only as long as strictly necessary and no longer than 12 months, unless the law requires more.
• Account data: until account deletion and then only for applicable statutory periods.
• Enquiries and messages: up to 24 months after the case is closed.
• Cookie consents: the stored choice lives on the device until withdrawn or cleared; it is re-asked at most every 6 months.

7. Recipients and international transfers

Your data is never sold or published. The following may access it, as processors or independent controllers:

• hosting, maintenance and email delivery providers;
• Google (Google Ireland Limited): Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4, only with statistics or marketing consent; measurements go through our own server statistics.nearfor.me first;
• Microsoft (Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited): Microsoft Clarity, only with statistics consent;
• Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe Limited): payments and subscription management;
• booking partners for experiences (for example Tiqets): only when you choose to book and move to their website, where their privacy notice applies;
• OpenStreetMap Foundation: map tiles, only with marketing consent.

As the controller is established in the United Kingdom and users are also in the European Economic Area, UK↔EU transfers rely on the adequacy decisions in force. Google, Microsoft and Stripe may also process data in the United States: these transfers rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (and its UK extension) or on standard contractual clauses.

8. Your rights

Every data subject may exercise access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection and consent withdrawal at any time by writing to info@nearfor.me. We reply within one month, extendable by two months for complex requests. You may also lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority (for example the Garante in Italy, the Information Commissioner’s Office in the United Kingdom, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos in Spain) or your habitual residence authority.

9. Children

The service targets adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16; if we learn of such data we delete it. Parents may contact info@nearfor.me for any report.

10. Cookies and trackers

NearFor.me uses cookies and similar tools grouped into categories; the full list, with names and durations, is in the Cookie policy.

• Necessary (always on, no consent needed): session and security cookies for sign-in, chosen language, your consent choice, and a few technical entries kept only in your browser (order of results, recently viewed listings). The site cannot work without them.
• Preferences (with consent): saved places (nearfor-saved-*) and theme previews (nearfor-theme-*).
• Statistics (with consent): Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity. The Google Tag Manager script is downloaded before you choose, but without consent it sends no measurements and sets no cookies.
• Marketing and third parties (with consent): Google conversion linking, OpenStreetMap map tiles and precise browser geolocation.

On your first visit a banner offers Accept all, Reject and Customise: basic browsing always remains possible if you reject, with only the necessary tools active. You can change your choices at any time from the “Manage consent” link in the footer or by clearing the site’s data in your browser, with immediate effect on future processing.

11. Changes to this notice

Any updates will be published on this page with the revision date. For substantial changes we will show a dedicated notice and, where the law requires it, ask for consent again.
